Hi! I'm Cristina Marra, LMFT and have a Masters in Business, as well. I worked in corporate America during the first phase of my career before taking on motherhood and counseling. I have 15+ years of experience in the field of therapy. I like to help adults and adolescents deal with life's challenges. Outside of work I enjoy my kids, family and friends, and my ranch (where I have horses).
I believe therapy works best when it feels human, collaborative, and grounded in trust. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe being honest, imperfect, and fully themselves without fear of judgment. I value clear communication, emotional attunement, and meeting clients where they are rather than rushing the process. My goal is to support you in building insight, confidence, and tools that feel realistic and sustainable for your life.
I work primarily with people navigating trauma, PSTD, psychosis, nightmares, personality disorders, and complex patterns that can make life feel difficult to understand or change. Many of my clients have experienced overwhelming or destabilizing experiences and may feel caught in cycles that no longer serve them. Others are struggling with recurring nightmares, intrusive memories, fears, relationship patterns, or changes in perception that leave them feeling disconnected from themselves or the world around them.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Clinical Sexologist, I believe in empowering my clients and setting themselves up for success by teaching them the tools they need to improve their happiness, inner peace, and fulfillment. I have been practicing for over 16 years, but have shifted my focus in the last several years to work with adults who struggle with relationships/intimacy, trauma, and anxiety.
Learn how to express yourself so that you are heard and understood by the ones you love. I work with families, couples, and individuals to break generational patterns that no longer serve them. We all deserve to be connected with ourselves, our children, and our loved ones and I hold a special place in my heart for co-parents who want to put their children first but can't figure out how to collaborate effectively. In collaboration, we create a safe space to connect and relate from intentional intimacy.
I have witnessed the growth and success of many wonderful people who came to therapy feeling nearly hopeless. I know that you can reach your goals and I'd like to help you get there.
I believe that meaningful mental health care starts with trust, compassion, and genuine connection. Over the past 15 years, I have worked across a variety of healthcare settings, including trauma nursing, emergency nursing, and nurse leadership roles, caring for individuals and families during some of life's most challenging moments. These experiences have reinforced my belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, empathy, and respect.
My commitment to mental health care is also shaped by personal experience. Like many people, I have witnessed the impact of mental health challenges in my own life and among loved ones, which has deepened my understanding of the courage it takes to seek help. I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where clients feel comfortable discussing difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.
I am a therapist with 7 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults. I consider it a privilege to be a part of my client’s personal growth and enjoy seeing individuals and families move toward creating a fulfilling life that they can move through with ease. I have experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues and parenting issues.
