Hi. I've been working as a therapist for 9 years. I have my AA in Sociology from Miracosta College, my BA in Psychology from Cal State Long Beach, and my MSW (Master of Social Work) from Cal State San Marcos. I assist people in dealing with stress from work, relationships, etc. I help people process unresolved trauma, grief, etc. I can help utilize the strengths you have, develop new strengths, in helping you live the most meaningful life in what that means to you.
Hello, I’m Sylvia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, relationship challenges, major life transitions, and questions about identity and self-esteem. Many are capable and high-functioning on the outside, but privately exhausted, stuck in patterns they can’t seem to change, or sensing something is off even when life looks “fine” on paper.
I earned my degree from the University of Chicago and have been in practice for over six years. My work is informed by both clinical training and lived experience, and I help clients make sense of the patterns keeping them stuck, so meaningful change becomes possible.

Following graduate school in the midwest, I moved to the west coast, where I attended the California School of Professional Psychology. Here, I earned a M.A in applied psychology and Psy. D. in clinical psychology with a dual emphasis in forensics and family therapy. My research consisted of working with high risk sexual offenders. Following my time on the west coast, I worked as a Staff Psychologist and Assistant Professor at a local university. In my free time, I train in combat arts and play guitar (try at least ;-).
