I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in Maplewood, NJ and the founder of canyons therapy. I can see clients who live in New Jersey, Texas, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. I am a recovering perfectionist, anxious mom, and lover of a slow-paced life. In session, you will find me casually dressed, warm beverage in-hand, and ready to hold space for your most imperfect self. Outside of session, I’m wrangling my young kids and doing my best to embrace our chaos. I enjoy being in nature, watching the latest documentary, and curating mood-setting playlists.
I am a licensed mental health counselor with 6 years experience in outpatient therapy, school based therapy, and emergency mental health services. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning adults who appear to be managing life well from the outside but are privately struggling with anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, ADHD, or major life transitions. I have a particular interest in men's mental health and helping professionals navigate the pressures that come with demanding careers, relationships, and family responsibilities. I work with adults, and can support parenting and divorce-related work, as well.
I have my master’s degree from Lesley University in Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Arts Therapy. I am certified as a mindfulness teacher, mediator, and yoga teacher. Additionally, I’m a facilitator of Gender Equity and Reconciliation, so it informs my work with couples and relationship challenges. I specialize in working with adult individual clients and couples who experience anxiety, depression, adult and childhood trauma, relationship conflict/transitions, and mid-life transitions.
I am passionate about working with people to understand and overcome things such as anxiety, depression, coping with issues relating to the Covid pandemic, anger and mitigating substance use.
Many of my clients come to me feeling like something is holding them back. Stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, struggling to communicate in ways that feel authentic, or searching for healthier ways to cope with life's challenges. They often describe a sense that their personal growth has stalled, even when they can't quite put their finger on why.
