Top therapists in New York accepting new patients
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris.
I am a Licensed New York State Marriage and Family Therapist. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in therapy as well as other modalities. ACT Therapy focuses on increasing mindfulness skills that help her patients recognize and address challenges that have occurred due to attempts at suppressing, managing, or trying to control one’s emotional experiences.
What if you had the time and space to understand the root of your inner self-critic and feelings of guilt? What if you could understand how it shows up in your emotional response, ability to be confident, and how you connect in relationships? I bring compassion and curiosity to create this time and space for you. Together we work to understand all aspects of who you are, how it contributes to feelings of anxiety and depression, and guide you to live with a natural feeling of confidence in yourself.
Do you notice patterns of behaviors that you are unsatisfied with? Therapy is a significant step towards working through and facing life's most difficult challenges. I have worked with adults, adolescents and children treating issues of adjustment, self-doubt, mood swings, trauma and anxiety attacks. When you approach the therapeutic process with curiosity, you can grow, heal, and thrive.
I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2002. Having worked in healthcare and academic settings, I appreciate being part of a treatment team and am available to coordinate care with other providers when beneficial. Rather than see 'how many problems' a person may be facing... I see 'how many ways things can get better'. I value working with folks to see their puzzle from a different angle and to use tools to clarify, change and improve the picture.
I am a clinical social worker with background in substance abuse treatment and mental health. I really enjoy working with clients and working towards their "aha moments". Therapy is a safe space to grow and "let down your hair" so to speak. I never want our time together to be a power struggle/dynamic but rather a place where you can speak your mind and not feel judged.

I’m a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Social Work and I have been working in community mental health for more than a decade.
I specialize in helping women, millennials and high achievers with:
- Life Transitions: marriage, breakups, relationships, career changes, emerging adulthood, depression, anxiety
- Perinatal Health: depression, anxiety, adapting to new roles, IVF, infertility, body image & change
- High Achieving: perfectionism, work/life balance, imposter syndrome, competitiveness
I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space for self-exploration, discovery, and healing. By utilizing unconditional positive acceptance, my goal is to help clients add to their social and emotional knowledge so they can navigate through difficulties in ways that foster self-esteem, well-being, and growth.
