I am a Licensed Psychologist in Texas and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist who specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults with social-emotional, behavioral, and educational needs. I received my Ph.D. in School Psychology from New York University in 2008 and completed an APA-approved clinical psychology internship at the Devereux Foundation in Pennsylvania. I have received training in both private and public school settings, outpatient settings, hospitals, and in specialized educational programs for children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. I participated in a Family and Multicultural Therapy program for two years at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City where I received supervised family therapy and multicultural competency-based training. In addition to my clinical work, I am an Assistant Professor in the School Psychology Program at Texas State University. My research seeks to understand and promote diversity and inclusion in educational settings. I am particularly interested in studying the development of and consequences associated with children’s social (e.g., gender stereotypes) and academic (e.g., growth mindset) cognitions. My research also involves developing and evaluating interventions to promote positive social and academic outcomes.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and I value creating a space where you do not have to carry things alone. Clients often describe me as calm, compassionate, and grounded. I will meet you where you are, support you at your own pace, and help you build greater understanding, healing, and connection with yourself.
Hi, and welcome! I'm a therapist who supports folks looking to deepen their relationships, experience more fun in their lives, and reconnect with their identity. You might have tried therapy before, and still struggle with anxiety or depression, even after gaining more insight. Much like myself, many of my clients have an overcontrolled coping style. This overcontrolled perspective often comes with huge strengths in achieving ambitious goals, juggling a busy schedule, and privately coping with big feelings. We can celebrate where you excel and explore how this coping style might leave you feeling stuck, depleted, or burnt out.
Hello there, welcome to my profile. My name is David and I am a first generation son from Mexican parents.
Born in Vietnam and raised in the United States, my career has spanned work as a classroom teacher, registered financial advisor, technical and relational manager, and EAP counselor for Fortune 500 companies. With additional training in substance abuse, employee assistance programs, and LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy, I combine practical real-world experience with compassionate, identity-affirming care.
I have the caring nature and problem solving skills that can support you in coping with a variety of situations. Over the years working in healthcare I have handled the many needs of a diverse group of patients (children and adults) and their families. I care about my clients and utilizing a solution focused approach, empower them to overcome obstacles.
