Top therapists in New York accepting new patients
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris.
I am a board certified LCSW from New York. I received my Masters from Hunter College, where I specialized in childhood trauma and development through the National Child Trauma Workforce Institute.
I am a certified level 1 AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapist. These specialized approaches invite clients to go deeper than in traditional talk-therapy and result in a deep sense of catharsis and ultimately, self-compassion. In addition, I am trained in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International.
These approaches benefit clients working through many different types challenges but are particularly helpful for those struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and with a history of interpersonal, and'or childhood trauma.
I work often with clients who self-identify as "people-pleasers"-empathetic, "emotional sponges" who prioritize others at the cost of their own well-being. My approach helps these types and ALL clients develop stronger boundaries, reconnect with their needs, and find renewed balance and purpose.

Hi, I’m Maya, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with extensive experience working with adults and children from diverse backgrounds. Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and trauma—often during times when they felt overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward.
I’m especially passionate about working with women and individuals facing grief, maternal mental health challenges, infertility, relationship stress, and major life transitions. My work is rooted in helping people reconnect with their sense of autonomy, voice, and inner strength. I believe meaningful change begins when you feel truly heard and supported.
I primarily work with individuals navigating the perinatal period. This includes people who are just starting to think about pregnancy, those currently expecting or navigating infertility and loss, and parents. I specialize in helping those who might be struggling with their mental health or are worried about how their own experiences will shape their relationship with their children.
Many of us, at some point in life, experience overwhelming and unpleasant feelings, such as persistent sadness, anxiety, grief, anger, loneliness, or stress. These may be the result of trauma, problems in relationships, stress because of work or school, loss, major life changes, conflicts, or unconscious/conscious self-defeating beliefs. However, no matter what has happened to us, we all have an innate ability to grow, to process, and to change. That fact that you are in this platform looking for help is already a great first step towards your healing process. I would very much like to help.
In my practice I provide strength and solution focused psychotherapy from a faith-based perspective (i.e. Catholic/Christian). This therapeutic process helps to empower you to take personal responsibility, resolve life problems, encourages you to advance towards desired goals, and promote healthy self-esteem.
I have over 10 years of experience providing psychotherapy services to teenagers, young adults, and older adults. The work that I do has helped people heal, improve their overall quality of life, improve spiritual growth, and their relationships.
